Untitled Trip - Part One.
It’s been a while since my last post, I mean a really nasty one: log of my not-so-ordinary-at-all life.
In this meaningless-for-common-people post, I’ll tell you the first of two story which was happened in my life in last 2 month:
My 1st trip (ever) to Bandung, and the another is about the best proposal I’ve ever get.
Bandung: Koil and KickFest2008.
It was August 1st 2008. A few days earlier, I got an information from my teammate (initial-f) that there will be held an annual event called KickFest in Bandung. KickFest was claimed to be the biggest local clothing expo. Well, I have no special interest with it, my center of interest was the band in the act list: KOIL.
I spread message to my teammates, ask them to join me taking trip off to Bandung that day (night actually, after the working hours). No one interesting. They prefer to take off the day after (Saturday). Fine with me.
So, I summed up the reason why I should be going to Bandung:
1. I haven’t visit Bandung at once, though I’ve lived in West Java too (I lived in Bogor for 3 years 2004-2007 so to speak)
2. KOIL act was on Saturday (August 2nd 2008)
3. There will be huge amount of crowd; its going to be fun at all
4. and YES, its a single person trip, no rules.
I went home on-time that day, packed up my clothes and stuff, took a bath, and leave my place at almost 18:30. On the public transportation I used to go to the bus station I met with an SQA (Software Quality Assurance) officer at my office. Both of us got the same destination: Bandung. He already booked his seat at travel agency near our office, and I planned to use cross-province bus from Lebak Bulus –which I dont have any idea when the last departure will took that day.
Traffic jam and any other reason make me arrived at Pondok Pinang at almost 20:15. I asked some people there, they said that I missed the 20:00 bus to Bandung. Damned it. I took the chance to catch up with the bus at its pool in UKI. And yet, I missed it again. Lucky me (or not) I got the last bus to Bandung at almost 21:40. And so the trip was officialy started.
~
Its been years since my last trip using a bus for a quite far destination. But this is different. This is what I’ve been after. Calmness. I just listened up to my mp3 player all the way, wrote down a log on my pda, and finally end-up loosing my mind in the dark of the roadside of Cipularang’s freeway. Its very nice to have a night trip. I decided to not sleep along the way. I dont want to waste the sensation of this trip.
Once I looked at people around me, lost in their dream perhaps. Is there, by any chance, these people share the same purpose as mine, doing this stupid (yet almost moronous) trip.
~
It felt a bit colder. I thought its already near Bandung. And I think I was right, based on the information panel along the freeway. Finally. It was almost 24:00.
In a minutes the bus has get into the town road. I pay my attention along the way, trying to find a place to rest that night. The bus stopped at the bus station called Leuwipanjang.
Well. There I was, August 2nd 2008, Saturday. Bandung. Its a bit cold. But I love it. I love the air.
Okay, first thing first. I need a place to rest. Try not to look moronous (as I already was), I try my best acted tough. I walk a bit forward, and thinking my next moves. I saw there was a friedrice booth in the roadside. I havent had my dinner, and yet its a good place to ask some information. Without second thought, I get to the booth. Having my dinner. And ask for a motel when I’m finished with my dinner.
~
Ehm…you know…shit happens though. Haha. The man who were in charge in the friedrice booth took me to a motel nearby. Its kinda place you’d hook-up-and-having-good-time (you jackass know what i mean) with your girlfriend or your friend girlfriend or … you named it. That motel was sucks. The bithes *ups* is not-even-so-far-away-genic, you know what I mean right? Right? They’re as ugly as hell. Hei, dont get me wrong. I didnt have any intention to spent my night with bitch(es). No way. Put that away from your mind.
Sucked motel, ugly bitches, whats next?. Sadly, the fact was that shits really hit the wall. The room next to mine was way too noisy. I think there was about 3 to 4 bitches there. I cant get myself fall asleep, I turned on the TV, and watched it until 02:30 when I found myself way too tired.
~
I woke up earlier caused by the TV sound, I forgot to turned it off. I check my cellphone it was 06:00. I watched TV a bit and then decided to took bath. After packed up my stuff and ready to leave I ask the man who after the motel how to get to the Gasibu (the place where KickFest2008 was held). He explained it while I noted it down. At 06:30 I leave those cursed place. Sigh.
That man said I only need to took a Damri (in-town public transportation) from Leuwipanjang, and then stop near the Diponegoro’s traffic light (cmiiw). From that point on, I used my secret-recipe of my super-secret-technique: asking people.
After about 15 minutes walking (oh btw I passed the STT Telkom building), I reached the Gasibu. Its right in front of Bandung’s City Hall Complex (”Gedung Balaikota Bandung”. CMIIW.). Its about 08:20 when I reached Gasibu. The first thing I were after was a breakfast.
Once I was done with my breakfast I took myself walking around the booths at Gasibu. At that time, the booth that already opened was Provoke!, Air Plane System, God.inc, and another i-cant-remember-their-name-and-so-sorry-about-that booths.
I really enjoyed myself walking from one booth after another, cant stop myself amazed with those artworks. Ideas had no limits. I always wish I was born with such talent. Spinning around the circle aint make me bored. Gasibu was a heaven of artwork that day. Full of colours, artworks, creativities, and ideas. Cant say more: I’m amazed.
~
I met with my teammates (initial-p, initial-f, initial-z, initial-b, and initial-r) a.k.a “The Dadakans” a.k.a “Bandit” at 14:00 (I forgot, from this point on I stopped logging). We take a lunch at a Yoghurt House nearby the Gasibu, and oh! its a bit raining when we just want to get back to the Gasibu. I remember that was Nudist Island act on the main stage. In my opinion, they sounds like Superman Is Dead. But, they were great anyway.
Finally, something that I was after since I’m in highschool, ahem, no…not that bad though I just want to see their live-session and thats that, I’m not so fan-boy. Anyway, its KOIL. Right on time. And…
What the hell…the yard that was so empty when the Nudist Island performed, now full with crowd, it seems like I’m not the only one who after Koil performance. Hoho. And here we go. KOIL live performance.
I’m a naturally-cool type, so I can suppressed my desire to headbanging there. Instead, I just nodded my head following the beat along their performance. Anyway, their performance was awesome. I was so glad that I was there to experienced it all.
The day wasnt over yet. I joined my teammates and we visited some places in Bandung. We have our dinner at Selasih –I dont know where actually it was–, the place were nice and the meals, uhm, for some (stupid) reason I couldnt tell you, ask my teammates instead of me. LoL.
~
Well guys, I have a lot more to write about. The day after (Sunday, August 3th 2008) was far way worst and yet great than that Saturday. But I think I’ll put it in different post.
~
So many things happened lately; so many ideas crossed mind, so many sins happened, so many laughs spent, so much money wasted, so many curses went off my mouth, so many enemies arouse. Yet I only have nerve to write down a single post.
Thanks for spending you valuable time to read my log. I do really appreciate that. And my last word: sorry for my english, its my bad.
You can browse my previous post regarding information about KickFest2008.
Regards,
static.
